Rama’s Journey, the Greatest Story Ever Told
Myths and legends from the great Indian classic The Ramayana.
Description: For thousands of years the stories of The Ramayana have been told to impart the most profound spiritual teachings that form the basis of Yogic and Hindu philosophy. In this four part workshop, you’ll learn about the main characters of this ancient indian epic, their stories and message communicated by allegory and symbolism.
Each class will start with storytelling followed by a dynamic Power Vinyasa practice where we incorporate these teachings and embody their message. All levels and all bodies welcome!
Part 1: Friday afternoon – 2:30pm to 5:00pm – “Master & Disciple”
Meet Vasishta and Viswamitra, the two greatest sages of ancient times. Learn about a story of liberation and explore this teaching in the asana practice focused on hip openers and arm balancing poses.
Part 2: Saturday morning – 10:00am to 12:30pm – “Leap of Faith”
Meet Hanuman, the courageous monkey and his story of devotion. Asana practice focused on forward bends and spinal twists.
Part 3: Saturday afternoon – 2:30pm to 5:00pm – “All or Nothing”
Meet the evil Ravana, a central figure in this drama who is lost in greed and ambition. Asana practice focused on backbends.
Part 4: Sunday morning – 10:00am to 12:30pm – “The Love that will not Die”
Meet the royals, Sita and Rama, the embodiment of divine love. Asana practice focused on the king and queen of poses, headstand and shoulderstand.
Participation: 40 euros per workshop – (Participation to all workshops is not obligatory)
Possible to stay for lunch at the garden on saturday, you can bring your lunch box or have a raw food lunch from the organic garden prepared for us (5 euros participation)
